WIsh I was there.

WIsh I was there.

I miss the manwhore

I sometimes just wish I could turn back time and tell the manwhore how much I loved him. Oh wait, I did. I just told the manwhore too late. I told the manwhore I loved him when he was on his way out of his manwhore pit.

I am so not used to the manwhore’s death. This new academically inclined, moveinwithgirlfriend personthing is so un-you.

But I guess its for the better, right? Today, I mourn for the manwhore.

Changing the world

  • Person: Sometimes we have just got to accept that some people are satisfied with not being ambitious, that our standards are not standards on them...
  • Me: But...how can we accept mediocrity in one of our own?
  • Person: Some people just won't know what they want...I mean, do you know what you want?
  • Me: Me? I want to change the world.

“You Are Gorgeous and I’m Coming” by Frank O’Hara

You Are Gorgeous and I’m Coming

Vaguely I hear the purple roar of the torn-down Third Avenue El
it sways slightly but firmly like a hand or a golden-downed thigh
normally I don’t think of sounds as colored unless I’m feeling corrupt
concrete Rimbuad obscurity of emotion which is simple and very definite
even lasting, yes it may be that dark and purifying wave, the death of boredom
nearing the heights themselves may destroy you in the pure air
to be further complicated, confused, empty but refilling, exposed to light

With the past falling away as an acceleration of nerves thundering and shaking
aims its aggregating force like the Metro towards a realm of encircling travel
rending the sound of adventure and becoming ultimately local and intimate
repeating the phrases of an old romance which is constantly renewed by the
endless originality of human loss the air the stumbling quiet of breathing
newly the heavens’ stars all out we are all for the captured time of our being.

-  Frank O’Hara (1926 - 1966)
